You won't need to prepare before getting a cantilever dental bridge. However, if the tooth that will anchor the bridge needs a root canal before the bridge is put in place, you'll need to see the dentist for at least one additional visit before the work to prepare your new cantilever bridge can begin.

Getting the bridge will take at least two visits to the dentist. During the first visit, the anchor tooth will be prepared. During the second, the cantilever bridge will be put into place. You may need one or more visits to the dentist after the bridge is in your mouth to make sure it is comfortable and fits correctly.
