Some post-ablation arrhythmias of atrial fibrillation may be short lived and resolve on their own. During the first three to six months, these palpitations, pounding heartbeats or other symptoms may fade away. Until they do, you may need to take  antiarrhythmic medications or other drugs. Talk to your doctor about any arrhythmias you have if they do not subside within a few months. or it they worsen.
