How does polycystic ovary syndrome affect pregnancy?

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) can make it very difficult to get pregnant since it interferes with the release of an egg during ovulation. If you are able to get pregnant with PCOS, it greatly increases your chances of miscarriage. Additionally, researchers believe that PCOS could begin during pregnancy. If your child is exposed to high amounts of androgen while in the womb during pregnancy, their chances for developing PCOS increase.
