Yes, plyometric training may be beneficial for those with weight loss goals to incorporate into their training program because of the higher intensity of this type of training. When compared with lower intensity exercise, higher intensity exercise has been shown to not only burn more calories during training but also after the training session has ended.

Plyometric training is great for weight loss. It produces explosive, powerful movements that load and contract muscles in a rapid sequence. These exercises help you jump higher, run faster and hit harder depending on what sport is being trained for but plyometric exercises don’t have to be used for sport specific training only. They make for a fun and challenging change up to your regular workout routine and burn some serious calories.

Plyometric training is great for weight loss.  This type of exercise uses your own body weight  at such a high intensity it will burn lots of calories.  However be careful not to do this type of training on a regular basis because it is hard on the joints.  Make sure you see your fitness professional first to see how you can incorporate this type of training into your workouts safely.  Bottom line a great calorie burner for weight loss.
