Physical activity has been shown to improve academic performance, including increased attention. Children and adolescents (ages 6 to 17) should get 60 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise on most days. Aerobic exercise increases blood flow to the brain and helps prevent obesity-related diseases such as obstructive sleep apnea, which causes daytime sleepiness and difficulty concentrating.
