Dr. Michael T Murray answered:For nearly 30 years I have lived the life of a health nut - so I have not only talked the talk; I have walked the walk and helped others do the same. Over this time, I have been interested to see many components of the natural health movement in the 1970s and 1980s become part of the mainstream - yogurt, salad bars, whole grains, vitamin and mineral supplements, tofu, soy milk, etc. But for some illogical reason a stigma still remains: if you care about your body and health, you are "nuts." There also seems to be in society a deep underlying tendency to reject the idea that diet, lifestyle, and natural medicines offer an effective answer to the health challenges facing America, even though there is tremendous support for this idea.
