Do other illnesses affect pili torti?

Pili torti is usually a hereditary genetic condition that causes hair to be brittle. The symptoms of the condition do not usually interact with other illnesses. There are a number of rare syndromes associated with pili torti, though, and are usually labeled as the cause of the condition. Some of these conditions are Bjornstad syndrome, Crandall syndrome, Bazex syndrome and Menkes kinky-hair disease.
