Because vitamins with minerals may affect other medical conditions or treatments, you should provide your doctor with a complete medical history, including any conditions you have or have ever had. Be sure to discuss the following conditions: alcoholism, liver disease or gastrointestinal problems. Your doctor may decide to prescribe a specific formulation that will better help treat your condition. It is important to tell your doctor if you are breastfeeding, pregnant or plan to become pregnant before taking vitamins with minerals so that you can discuss appropriate dosages of the medication.
