Nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) with patches, gum, inhalers, lozenges, and nasal sprays can help people to stop smoking.  Those who use NRT are 1.5 to 2 times more likely to quit smoking when compared to those smokers who use a placebo. Nicotine replacement can be an effective tool to curb the craving for cigarettes. Along with behavioral therapy and certain medications it can help people quit smoking for good.
