Lutein has been found to be one of the most beneficial nutrients for maintaining sight and improving the health of your eyes. Some researchers believe lutein prevents oxidative damage to your retina, but we really don't know how it does its good deeds. It's found in corn, spinach, and other leafy green vegetables, and you can also take it in supplement form. I recommend taking 1,000 milligrams twice a day.

The retina of the eye contains lutein. The lutein helps protect your eyes by absorbing blue light rays and not allowing them to pass through and cause damage to the eye.
