National Academy of Sports Medicine answered:

To help develop optimal stability, strength, and power in the lower extremities, baseball and softball players can benefit from plyometric exercise such as side-to-side hops, box jumps, power step-ups, jump with rotation, or bounding drills. All of these exercises can be performed with both legs or single-leg. For more advanced athletes, a loaded leg press can be used to do a plyometric leg press. Whenever possible, add a throw or catch activity to a basic exercise to make it more sport-specific.
