    Lorazepam is approved by the FDA for use in treating anxiety. Lorazepam is sometimes prescribed for off-label uses, or uses that do not currently have FDA approval. Lorazepam is currently used as an off-label treatment for alcohol withdrawal, agitation, restless leg syndrome, seizure disorders, insomnia, myoclonus, and spastic disorders such as multiple sclerosis or cerebral palsy.
