    Artificial sweeteners are rigorously evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration prior to release to the American public.  Studies of sucralose and aspartame have not been shown to cause damage to the nervous system even with a large daily intake.  Therefore, it is unlikely that artificial sweeteners and stroke are linked, although there are no studies addressing this specific issue.
