How can I know what my heart needs to be healed?
-
Dr. Dean Ornish answered:Your heart has its own voice, which mayor may not be the same as your inner teacher's voice. Or your heart may communicate by changing images of itself rather than in words or in sounds rather than words.
Once you are able to receive information from your heart, whether in images, sounds, or otherwise, ask your heart what it needs in order to become healed. Begin by asking what it needs for physical healing. After you receive a reply, then ask your heart what it needs for emotional and spiritual healing. It maygive you specific advice, such as diet and exercise, it may tell you about relationships or emotions, or it may tell you something completely different from any of these.
Thank your heart for beating continually since you were born, for keeping you alive and so on. Listen for what it says in reply if anything.
You may find that you ask a question to the heart and do not receive a reply. Or you may not even get to the point where the heart tells you its name when you first introduce yourself. If this happens, visualize a wall, barrier, or obstruction that is keeping you from this information, much as you did in the last exercise.
Many people find an image of a wall or even a fortress around their heart, both protecting and isolating it. You may find a similar image, or yours may be completely different. Or you may not even visualize a wall around your heart.
If you do visualize a wall or obstruction in another form, begin a dialogue with this barrier as you did in the last exercise. As before, thank the wall for protecting you for so many years, and listen for the reply. Ask the wall if it would allow you to experience what is on the other side, knowing that the wall cancome back instantly if you need it.
When you've finished, thank the heart for providing you this information and for "opening." Allow yourself to feel love for your heart, and to experience the love that your heart has for you. Finally, ask your heart how you can get in touch with it again, and it may tell you.
