What should I know about Xopenex before taking it?
-
Stacy Wiegman answered:Xopenex should be used with caution in people who have cardiovascular disorders, coronary artery disease, hypertension, cardiac arrhythmias, tachycardia or QT prolongation. Be sure that the doctor who prescribes Xopenex for you knows if you have any of those disorders. Also, make sure that the doctor knows if you have thyroid disease, seizure disorder, diabetes or use MAO inhibitors.
If your symptoms become worse or if Xopenex (also known as levalbuterol) seems to have stopped working for you, call your doctor immediately. If you feel like you need more Xopenex, which could be a sign that your condition may be getting worse and a serious asthma attack may be coming, call your doctor right away.
