    Yes, untreated cardiovascular condition is like any illness. It continues relentlessly until it consumes the creature. Rather dramatic description of illnesses like High Blood Pressure, High Cholesterol, and Diabetes to name only a few.
    But a stroke that is debilitating due to untreated high blood pressure is more than just a nuisance.
    A heart attack due to accumulation of plaques in the arteries supplying blood to the heart is also a significant if not a sad event.
    Having toes, feet and legs amputated are more than just aesthetics for those who do not treat their diabetes.
