Is there a vaccine for chronic bronchitis?

Chronic bronchitis is almost always caused by smoking or exposure to another type of air pollutant, so there is no vaccine that can prevent the condition. The best way to prevent chronic bronchitis is to not smoke and avoid inhaling harmful gases. Once you've been diagnosed with chronic bronchitis, however, doctors often recommend that you get regularly vaccinated for the flu and possibly for pneumonia. This is because chronic bronchitis makes you particularly susceptible to other respiratory illnesses and infections.
