  1. There is no cure for hepatitis B. In most cases, acute hepatitis B symptoms will subside within six months. Once infected with the hepatitis B virus, symptoms can reoccur or become chronic. Your doctor can help you manage your symptoms as well as diagnose chronic hepatitis B infection. However, there is a hepatitis B vaccine which can prevent getting the disease.
