A good rule of thumb for makeup is 'less is more'. The challenge with makeup is in covering up problem areas that can then be further aggravated by the makeup. Look for a makeup that is noncomedogenic and nonacnegenic. It is also important not to forget sunscreen even while wearing makeup. Finally, be sure to have a mild cleanser and an effective moisturizer on hand in the evening when you remove your makeup. Always apply the moisturizer after removing your makeup.

I think the key here is to keep everything in moderation. While many of us enjoy wearing make-up, it is important to allow your skin and pores to “breathe.” It is important to completely remove all make-up at night before going to bed. In the past much of our make-up was very drying or caused congestion in the skin. However, more recently developed products take your skin health into consideration, so are more gentle and tolerable.
