    Discovery Health answered:

Because laughing causes slight physical strain, laughter therapy is not recommended for people who have undergone intensive surgery, people with hernias and pregnant women. Also, because laughter therapy is practiced in groups, cold and flu germs easily can spread, so people with compromised immune systems should be cautious.
