Is Juice Plus+ worth the extra money?

Audrey Quick - NASM Elite Trainer answered:This is really an individual preference. Personally, I take Juice Plus, and feed it to my family, even though we eat a whole foods plant-based diet. I like the insurance of knowing we are getting the phytonutrients of 17 fruits/veggies and grains (25 if you add in the vineyard blend, which is berries and grapes). I would rather pay less than $2/day for the extra nutrition, than pay later in more doctor visits/medications/lost work due to illness, or staying home with a sick child, but again, that's my preference.

Chad Kramer of dotFIT answered:It is recommended that we eat at least 5 servings of fruits and vegetables daily. This task can be a chore to accomplish on a daily basis. It is always a good practice to do everything possible to get this recommendation from whole sources of fruits and vegetables especially because some important fibers are missing from drink sources. Since Juice Plus is made from dehydrated fruits and vegetables, it may be an alternative when one does not reach this recommended number of servings per day. Keep in mind that Juice Plus does not replace whole foods and also should not be taken in place of your daily multiple vitamin/mineral formula.
