National Academy of Sports Medicine answered:

We all have anxiety. Anxiety is a trait. There are two types of anxiety: trait and state. High trait anxiety people are born with a higher level of anxiety and are more anxious than people born with a lower level of trait anxiety. State anxiety is situational. For example, with trait anxiety some people are highly anxious about exercise while others aren't. We all experience state anxiety during different times and at different levels. For example, with regard to exercise, one person may have a lot of (state) anxiety around jogging while another person doesn't have any anxiety around jogging. The research states that people have reduced feelings of anxiety after exercise and that exercise reduces the severity of physical and emotional anxiety related symptoms and illnesses.
