Is Diovan HCT safe for pregnant and breast-feeding women?

Women who are pregnant should not take Diovan HCT because it can seriously harm an unborn child. If taken during pregnancy, it can cause serious problems to the fetus, such as low blood pressure, kidney failure, problems in growth of skull bones, and death. If you become pregnant while taking Diovan HCT, stop taking it, and call your doctor immediately. Since Diovan HCT travels through breast milk, you should decide to either take the medication or breastfeed, not both.
