Balding is a form of hair loss that can be inherited. Some diseases and disease treatments can cause hair loss, too.

There are many other causes of hair loss. Hair has a limited lifespan, which is one reason why most people lose between 50 and 100 hairs every day. Poor hair hygiene can cause hair loss, too. To promote healthy hair and help limit your hair loss, use a conditioner after you shampoo. Avoid rubbing wet hair with a towel. Instead, wrap damp hair in a towel, blot it gently with a towel, or let it dry naturally.
