    Stacy Wiegman answered:

It is not known whether the dose of Concerta received by an unborn or breastfeeding child is harmful to that child. There have not been enough studies to show the long-term effects of taking Concerta while pregnant or breastfeeding.

The FDA has classified Concerta as a Class C drug in relation to pregnancy and breastfeeding. Class C identifies Concerta as a drug that has not had enough testing to be considered safe for pregnant women, nor has it been deemed inherently unsafe.

Talk to your doctor before taking Concerta if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are breastfeeding. You and your doctor will need to weigh the benefits and risk of taking Concerta.
