  1. Colon cancer is very serious. Caught in the early stages, it is very treatable. Surgery can often cure cancer in about 90 percent of the early stage cases, although that number drops to between 30 and 50 percent once the cancer is in stage III or IV. If you have symptoms of colon cancer, it is important to see your doctor as soon as possible.

    Every cancer is a serious illness, because currently we do not have the technology to cure cancer. Colon cancer is the third leading cause of death in the United States; however, if caught early, it is highly treatable.
