  1. Chlamydia is very contagious. It's caused by bacteria that can spread from one person to another pretty easily, usually through sexual contact. When the bacteria travel through the fluid of one person into another person's mucous membranes, the bacteria then enter and infect their body. Because of this, people who have sex with multiple partners are more likely to catch chlamydia. Chlamydia can also spread from a mother to her child during birth.

Yes, chlamydia is very contagious. The most absolute way of having protection against chlamydia is abstinence from sex. The next best prevention is condom use. Condoms will increase your chance of protection if used properly. If you are unsure you are using condoms correctly, contact your healthcare provider or local health department for instructions on proper use.

Chlamydia is a contagious sexually transmitted disease. In fact, it is one of the most common sexually transmitted diseases. This is especially true in women under twenty five.

Surprisingly, chlamydia is not always symptomatic and that is one of the reasons that it is so common. A person may have chlamydia and not even know which makes them even more likely to engage in unsafe sex. Yearly screening is a good idea for people who are sexually active.
