    Oatmeal and other whole grain cereals are healthy foods, especially when eaten with skim milk. Choose cereal with 3 or 4 grams of fiber per serving. Check the serving size on the label and measure accordingly. Adding fruit enhances the nutrient value. Choose cereals with less than 8 grams of sugar per serving.

    Cereal makes a great snack and as a topping to yogurt.
