What increases my risk for a connective tissue disorder?

Connective tissue disorders are inherited, so your genes determine whether or not you are at risk. If a close family member has a connective tissue disorder, you may be at a greater risk of contracting the disease. Even if you do not contract a connective tissue disorder, you still may be able to pass the gene to others if someone else in your family has the disease.
