You don't need a full-length mirror to know that your body is undergoing some pretty major changes, and they also manifest themselves in the way you feel internally when it comes to such things as sex drive and the way you interact in your intimate relationship.

One minute, you may crave nothing more than a steamy sex session, and the next, you may feel about as sexy as clay. While your partner may think your mood changes are maddening, the truth is that it's not your fault - it's your hormones.

On one hand, much of what's happening in your body is working to boost your sex drive. As your estrogen and progesterone levels increase, they cause changes in your body that increase your libido. Estrogen causes increased vaginal lubrication, increased sensitivity to your breasts and nipples, and increased blood flow to your pelvic area. The increased curves around your hips and breasts may also make you feel sexier. Add those symptoms together and it's a righteous recipe for romance.

On the other hand, those hormones can conspire against you - especially in the beginning, when nausea and fatigue dictate that the bed be used for sleep, rest, and foot rubs only. And in the third trimester, you may feel uncomfortable, meaning that there's zero chance you actually want to have sex.
