    Aurora Health Care answered:
Your blood pressure, pulse, and respirations will be taken after a paracentesis -- a procedure in which fluid is taken from the abdominal cavity to be examined. A dressing will be applied to the puncture area. You will be observed for a short period of time depending on the doctor's orders. Your dressing will be checked before discharge.
