Insulin resistance dictates how much medication it takes to control your blood sugar. Insulin resistance is tied to your weight, so the more you weigh, the worse it gets. If your doc has designed a perfect treatment plan for you and you gain weight, the plan won't work anymore. On the other side of the coin of the realm, if you lose a bunch of weight (and good for you!) you might be rattling around loose inside your armor. You might need a smaller suit. If your weight changes, either up or down, you'll need to check in with your doc and make sure your therapy plan is still right for you.
