  1. Staging for uterine sarcoma is determined surgically. Grade I uterine sarcoma is when cancer cells are present in the uterus only. In grade II uterine sarcoma, cancer is present in the uterus and cervix. In grade III, the cancer cells have spread to the pelvis. In grade IV uterine sarcoma, the cancer has spread outside the uterus and pelvis, possibly into the bladder, rectum, or bowel.
