Fixing pelvic, back, or sciatic pain requires, among other things, an understanding of anatomy and biomechanics. My goal is to help you visualize exactly how your body works and what's going wrong when you experience pain during your pregnancy. When you understand and can see clearly what causes your pain, you can develop and implement a plan to fix it. But knowledge is only half the answer to the problem of your pain. True healing also requires adjusting your mental processes to work for you, not against you.
Attention to your body and how it is or isn't working is absolutely necessary to recover from pain. In fact, lack of attention is a common factor in most peoples' health issues. Developing body awareness is often the most difficult - and most important - aspect of healing your pain. This is especially true when you're pregnant because your body is changing in so many ways.
Intention is another intangible but crucial aspect of healing body pains during pregnancy. Harnessing your intention - your singular focus toward getting better - will reap enormous dividends. Visualize it, verbalize it, write it down, and live as if you are getting better every day; in the process you will discover which habits are counter to your goals. Once you identify these habits, you can change them. Each change will reinforce your intention.
