Rituxan is taken as a liquid injectable. A doctor, nurse, or other medical professional will administer the drug to you at a medical facility. Rituxan is generally injected into a vein in your arm via an intravenous (IV) infusion. The dosage you receive during each visit depends on what you are being treated for and your medical condition. Typically, Rituxan is administered every two weeks for treatment of rheumatoid arthritis. When treating non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, the drug is often given once weekly for one to two months or at the beginning of each round of chemotherapy. Because the drug must be injected slowly, your treatment can last several hours.
