If you have an object caught between your teeth, gently try to remove the object with dental floss. If you're not successful, go to the dentist. Do not try to remove the object with a sharp or pointed instrument.

    Dr. Peggy Rosen answered:

If the object is food use dental floss.  If that doesn't work, use a floss threader to help place the dental floss underneath the object and slide upward to loosen any objects that may have lodged between the teeth. Care should be taken not to cut your gums during insertion of the floss threader.
