It is important to remember that a pregnant woman has the BEST interest of her baby at heart, and she will be careful about recording her weight and blood pressure. To help her be as accurate as possible she will have someone to assist her, an easy to read scale, and an automatic blood pressure cuff. She will be taught what the numbers mean, how to develop healthy goals for herself and ways to meet those goals. She will be taught ways to maintain a healthy weight gain and blood pressure through relaxation techniques, healthy food choices, and appropriate exercise. This will empower her to monitor her health and that of her family during her pregnancy and beyond.
