The first step on the road of multiple sclerosis (MS) parenting is admitting you no longer fall under "average" parenting rules. If you think about it, it is rather freeing to be told it is okay to be you and not some unrealistic image society has painted for parents. Say it with me: "I am an MS parent!"

Now, step away from all those parenting magazines, books, and websites written with the ideal in mind, not reality. They are not for us. In fact, most are filled with guilt-inducing activities and recipes for which even most average people don't have the time or energy. So, put down that article telling you that your life and family can be organized if only you build a few shelves, make hundreds of labels, and spray everything with glitter. It isn't going to happen.
