Your skin is not likely to get used to a product’s ingredients in a way that decreases its effectiveness. Many women feel that if they are not using the latest products, they are somehow missing out. If you get a rush from buying new things, you can justify the cost by convincing yourself that your old beauty products are no longer working, but it’s probably all in your head. The only product that may become less effective over time is over-the-counter acne treatments, if your acne progresses and you’re using a formula that is too mild. Also, don’t be afraid to start using anti-aging products including vitamin-A derivatives in your youth. The ingredients’ benefits spring eternal (that is, they won’t stop working for you).
