You need to use the bodybuilding formula of feeding the muscle while starving the body fat. Meaning, eat correctly and enough including protein intake, take your necessary daily supplements including a daily multivitamin/mineral formula and your pre- and post-training shakes/formula. Eat 4-5 small meals daily depending on your total calories needs. All meals should contain protein, fats and carbohydrates. Using the Free Sharecare Fitness Application, you can set your goals and create the ideal program including individualized menus, proper calorie and protein requirements, meal timing, exercises that you choose to perform, ideal supplement recommendation and coaching/feedback all the way till you reach your goal. (a)      Active multivitamin mineral formula

    • Take 1 daily with breakfast or any other larger meal
    • Use SuperCalcium+ and SuperOmega-3 as necessary – i.e. not getting enough from food

    (b)     dotFIT First String or Pre/Post Meal Replacement & Workout Formula

    • Take 2 scoops 10-30 minutes before workout or use favorite dotFIT® bar for convenience
    • Take 2 scoops immediately post workout
    • Use anytime throughout the day to add calories as necessary to maintain muscle gain

A combination of a healthy diet combined with strength training exercises will help ensure you maintain muscle while exercising. In addition try eating four to six meals a day. Insulin response to a meal stimulates protein synthesis. Spread protein intake throughout the day to take advantage of the previous tip. Lastly do not neglect the importance of carbohydrates and healthy fats. It takes more than protein to preserve lean body mass.
