    You can lower your risks of unplanned pregnancy by the following:

    • Be sure you have complete and correct information about the use of your method.
    • Use your method consistently and correctly.
    • Use two methods at once (dual protection) to lower your risk of pregnancy dramatically. If one of the two methods is a condom, this also provides protection from sexually transmitted infections.
    • Have an emergency method available for backup if your method fails or if you have unprotected intercourse.
