National Academy of Sports Medicine answered:

Kegel exercises are used to improve muscle tone and tightness in
muscles of the deep pelvic floor region. Some research indicates that Kegel
exercises can reduce pelvic pain by relaxing the uterus. In some, Kegel exercises can help relieve cramps and reduce pelvic pain. However, in others, pain in the pelvic region is caused by muscles that have become excessively tight, in which case, Kegel exercises can make those symptoms worse. If you have pain or tightness have a qualified medical professional evaluate your pelvic floor muscles and recommend the best course of treatment.
