How do other illnesses affect bronchoalveolar carcinoma?

Bronchoalveolar carcinoma can occur simultaneously with a case of adenocarcinoma. In fact, a diagnosis of the two lung cancers combined makes up more than 20 percent of all cases of non-small cell lung cancers (NSCLC). While bronchoalveolar carcinoma affect the alveoli (air sacs) and bronchi (windpipes), adenocarcinoma affects the glands that make mucus.
