Dr. Mehmet Oz answered:Anytime someone experiences a change to their skin, it is helpful to encourage them to seek a physician's diagnosis and care instructions, including periungal warts.

If someone you know has periungual warts, avoid direct contact with the warts or wash your hands thoroughly after such contact. You should also not share nail clippers or files with that person until the warts have disappeared. Talk to their doctor about possible treatment options if the warts do not go away.
