It just won't cut it on your lovely head.
You know as well as anyone that the first sign of gray on your scalp will send you running right over to Pierre, or, if he is not around, to the Clairol counter, to fix.
But let's not get carried away, shall we?
Put the all-over blonde back in the bottle. Research shows that we can accurately guess someone's age regardless of the hair color, so why look like a frizzled floozy? Go for subtle, sweetie. A flattering contrast, perhaps. Maybe caramel lowlights for those aging blondes, or lighter highlights for you raven-haired beauties of a certain age.
Now we all know just how nasty hair dye can be. Smelly and harsh on the scalp, not to mention what it actually does to the hair. So you embrace the gray. But that's not the end of your follicle follies. There's thinning, duller and breaking hair to worry your little head. So use a volumizing shampoo and avoid hair-straining styles like pony tails or chemical treatments.
Then there's that cut. Tell Pierre you don't want it all chopped off. But do let the shape of your face, as well as the shape of your hair, be a guide.
