How fast can my heart beat when I'm exercising?

Dr. Michael Roizen answered:To calculate your maximum heart rate (the number of times your heart beats per minute when pushed to the limit) when exercising, first subtract your calendar age from the number 220. If you are forty, your maximum heart rate should be about 180 beats per minute. If you are sixty, your maximum should be about 160 beats per minute. As I've gotten more fit, I challenge myself by subtracting my RealAge (physiologic age) from 220.To calculate your maximum heart rate (the number of times your heart beats per minute when pushed to the limit) when exercising, first subtract your calendar age from the number 220. National Academy of Sports Medicine answered:Maximum heart rate varies for everyone. To get a general idea of how your heart may perform, take 220 and subtract your age. This gives a rough estimate of your maximum heart rate. While exercising, you will most likely never reach this number. During exercise we can reach anywhere from <60-95% of our maximum heart rate depending on the intensity.
