    With menopause and post-menopause, many women experience changes to their mouths and gums. You might have dry mouth and a burning feeling in your gums or tongue during menopause. You might have a change in the way foods taste.  A small number of women develop menopausal gingivostomatitis, which is dry and shiny gums that look either very pale or dark red in color. If you have this condition, your gums also bleed easily.  If you are menopausal or post-menopausal and have some of these symptoms, see your dentist and physician. Many women find that estrogen supplements help ease uncomfortable oral health symptoms caused by menopause.
