Your doctor will prescribe how you should take amoxicillin, either two or three times a day. You should take this prescription about the same time each day, carefully taking the correct dosage each time. Take the entire prescription, even if you begin to feel better. Be sure to shake the liquid before taking and measure the dose with a calibrated spoon, cup or oral syringe.  Chewable tablets should be chewed before swallowing; do not swallow whole. The extended-release tablets should be swallowed whole and not crushed or chewed.
