The leading cause of kidney disease is diabetes. Therefore, if you have developed diabetic kidney disease and any other disease that causes kidney disease, you are at a higher risk of developing kidney failure. This includes high blood pressure, or hypertension; obstructions of the urinary tract; kidney abnormalities; and autoimmune disorders. Talk to your doctor if you have diabetes and any other disease that cause kidney disease to help delay or prevent kidney failure.
