    The prevalence of West Nile virus varies each year. Generally reports of cases increase in summer and into the fall. This year (2012) it appears there is an increase in the number of cases being reported. According to the CDC there have been approximately 1100 cases reported to date. In 2011 there were approximately 700 cases reported and in 2010 about 1000 cases of West Nile Virus were reported.
